Summary: Sjöfarten behöver tillgång till mer förvätskad biogas1 (LBG) som drivmedel för sin gröna omställning. Möjligheterna att tillgodose behovet med svenskproducerad uppraderad biogas (biometan2) är goda utifrån biomassapotentialen i Sverige, men det behövs tekniska och informationsmässiga lösningar för att effektivare länka biogaspotentialen med slutanvändaren. Projektet ska bidra med kunskap för att underlätta denna implementering. Biogasproducenter sammankopplas med naturgasnätverket eller andra lösningar som matchar sjöfartens behov. Flera nya värdekedjor undersöks, såsom förvätskning vid hamn alternativt vid produktion av biogas, flakning av komprimerad biometan till hubbar för inmatning till gasnätet samt hantering av biometan som metanhydrat.Summary: Shipping needs access to more LBG as a fuel for its green transition. The possibilities to meet the need with Swedish-produced biomethane are good based on the biomass potential in Sweden, but technical and informational solutions are needed to link the biogas potential more effectively with the end user. The project will contribute with knowledge to support this implementation. Biogas producers are connected to the natural gas network or other solutions that match the needs of shipping. Several new value chains are being investigated, such as liquefaction at ports or at the biogas production plant, transport of mobile gas storage of compressed biomethane to hubs for feeding into the gas network and handling of biomethane as methane hydrate.
