Abstract: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are the common name for several systems that increase driver safety an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are the common name for several systems that increase driver safety and comfort. These systems have been known for years and are standard in new cars, and the technology is constantly being developed among others because car fleet is becoming more and more self-driving. Examples of ADAS include cruise control, systems that support parking process and lane assisting the driver to keep the vehicle on the lane. For road markings, the Lane assistants or Line Departure Warning (LDW) are systems of interest. LDW is commonly built with a camera, located at the top of the windshield. The images from the camera are analyzed by a computer that can thus calculate the car's location on the road. Most often, the system detects the white/yellow edge lines, There are systems with noticeable warning functions such as vibrations in the steering wheel (lane-shift warning) or active systems that respond with direct control interference. As the car park becomes more and more self-driving and LDW systems are standard equipment, it is important the the road infrastructure and technological developments corresponds for prober detecting the road marking.
