Abstract: Det övergripande syftet med det föreslagna projektet är att identifiera drivkrafter på individ-, organisations- och branschnivå för kompetensförsörjning i en socialt hållbar sjöfart, samt undersöka hur dessa kan omsättas i praktiken. Det innebär en systematisk genomgång av relevant vetenskaplig litteratur på temat attraktivt arbete, rekryteringsprocesser samt interventionsstudier som utvärderat åtgärder för jämställdhetsintegrering i mansdominerade branscher. Litteraturgenomgången utgör en kunskapsbas som sedan ligger till grund för utveckl-ingen av detaljerade frågeställningar för en efterföljande nulägesanalys, samt planering, genomförande och utvärdering av åtgärder där dessa kunskaper överförs för att kunna omsättas i praktiken. Projektet har tre specifika projektmål som arbetar mot övergripande projektmål och långsiktigt effektmål. De tre projektmålen omfattar att 1) identifiera drivkrafter för socialt hållbar kompetens-försörjning, baserat på tidigare forskning; 2) utreda förut-sättningar för rekrytering av studerande till sjöfartsutbildningar på gymnasie- och universitetsnivå, samt 3) ta fram och kommunicera konkreta förslag på åtgärder på organisations- och branschnivå för att öka intresset för sjöfartsutbildningar. Övergripande och långsiktiga effektmål inkluderar ett ökat söktryck till sjöfartsutbildn-ingar på gymnasie- och universitetsnivå. Särskilt förväntas andelen kvinnliga studerande ökas. Projektet genomförs av forskargruppen vid Sjöfartshögskolan, Linnéuniversitetet, i samarbete med HR-expert Jeanette Wetterström som också är ordförande i Sjöfartens Utbildningsinstitut (SUI), samt VD och rektor Johan Östergren vid Sjömansskolan Stockholm AB. Genom samarbete med sjöfartens sociala parter och andra branschaktörer bedöms åtgärdsförslagen få god legitimitet och vara väl förankrade i svensk sjöfarts praktik och vardag, vilket underlättar en implementering av idéerna.
Abstract: The overall aim of the proposed project is to identify incentives at individual, organiza-tional and industry levels for the skills supply in a socially sustainable shipping industry, and to investigate how these incentives can be put into practice. This entails a systematic review of relevant scientific literature on the themes of attractive work, recruitment and retention processes, as well as intervention studies targeting gender mainstreaming in male-dominated industries. The literature review constitutes a knowledge base for the development of detailed research questions for a subsequent current situation analysis, as well as for planning, implementation and evaluation of actions where this knowledge is put into practice. Three specific project goals lead towards fulfilment of overall project objectives and long-term impact: 1) identifying incentives for socially sustainable skills supply, based on previous research; 2) investigate the prerequisites for the recruitment of students to maritime education at the upper secondary and university levels, and 3) develop and communicate suggested actions at the organizational and sector level to increase the interest in maritime education. Through cooperation with the maritime social partners and other industry represent-atives, the suggested actions are believed to gain sound legitimacy and be firmly rooted in the practice and everyday life of the Swedish maritime industry.
