Subject(s): Abstract: Projektet skall genom tvärvetenskaplig forskning studera uppkomsten av låg adhesion mellan tåghjul och räls. De förhållanden som leder till låg adhesion skall identifieras och effekterna kvantifieras. Vidare skall konkreta metoder och medel för att förhindra låg adhesion utvecklas. Metod: - Studier av kunskapsfronten i Europa, litteratur, intervjuer - Laboratorieförsök i en unik adhesionstestrigg för detaljerade studier av under vilka förhållanden låg adhesion förekommer i kombination med ytkemiska analyser på och i kontaktytorna. - Studier och utveckling av motmedel mot låg adhesion - Fullskaleförsök för att verifiera laboratorieförsöken. - Spridning genom rapporter, konferenser, tidskrifter och disputation.Abstract: The origin of low adhesion between train wheel and rail is subjected to research. Conditions contribution to low adhesion should be identified and quantified. Methods and measures to prevent low adhesion should be developed. Methodology: - State-of-the-art studies, literature and interviews. - Laboratory tests with adhesion test rig to identify on a more detailed level when low adhesion occurs in combination with surface chemist analyses on the contacting surfaces. - Studies and development of friction modifiers. - Full scale field trials to verify the laboratory tests. - Documentation and information, through reports, conferences, scientific journals and a doctoral thesis,
