Av de utkast som hittills presenterats framgår dock att flera fundamentala dimensioneringsprinciper som är av stor vikt inom bergbyggande har åsidosatts. Det kan leda till sämre resursutnyttjande och dyrare konstruktioner i hela EU. Syftet med detta BeFo-projekt är därför att lyfta denna för branschen så viktiga fråga och initiera en diskussion av dessa frågor bland beslutsfattare inom svenskt och internationellt bergbyggande. Det görs främst genom publicering i en vetenskapligt granskad tidskrift, vilket ger tyngd åt argumenten i den internationella debatten.Abstract: Eurocode 7 is currently being revised, partly with the purpose to make it more applicable to rock engineering. Considering the current drafts, it is however clear that several fundamental design principles that are of great importance to rock engineering are not applied. This could potentially imply more expensive construction and unnecessary use of construction material throughout the European Union. The purpose of this project is to highlight this issue and to initiate a discussion among decision makers within the Swedish and international rock engineering community. The means are mainly through publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal, as this gives additional weight to the arguments in the international debate.
