Subject(s): Abstract: Syftet med projektet är att tydliggöra vilka möjligheter som finns att minska energianvändningen vid transporter av snabbrörligt gods, vilka hittills till stor del utförs som vägtransporter, över ofta stora avstånd. Projektet utgör ett komplement till ett av Vinnova finansierat projekt (Vinnova dnr: 2015-03576) vars syfte är att utveckla och senare implementera ett koncept för ett hållbart intermodalt transportsystem för snabbrörligt gods.Abstract: The project idea is to develop and subsequently implement a concept for a sustainable intermodal transport system for Time Sensitive Low Density High Value goods (TSLDHV) that can include provisions and retail goods, spare parts, as well as mail and parcels. The concept will be based on intermodal trains with load units which can be loaded on and off trains at intermediate terminals. In the project a model and a tool for flow differentiation, simulation and comparison of arrangements will be employed. The model will permit choice of transport arrangement based on energy, environmental and cost aspects. A goal is to reduce the energy consumtion by 50 % until 2050. Obstacles to the establishment of high-frequency intermodal transport arrangement may be unbalanced goods flow that causes traffic base only in one direction. There is therefore a need to identify imbalances in goods flows and to achieve a flow mapping covering the Scandinavia and to propose measures to balancing the flows.
