Syftet med projektet är att i en fältstudie jämföra teknik i form av innovativa tekniksteg i vagnar med konventionell teknik för att se om den mer avancerade tekniken bidrar till energieffektivisering.Studien ska också undersöka om teknikerna ger bättre driftekonomi när den högre investeringskostnaden vägs in. Resultaten ska ge rekommendationer till lantbrukarna för vilka kombinationer av traktor och vagn som är mest energieffektiva samt mest ekonomiska vid olika transportavstånd och markunderlag. Abstract: A large proportion of agriculture's energy consumption consists of fuel for many and often long-distance transports of supplies and finished products and it counts for about 2.2 TWh. The majority of agricultural transport is performed by tractor and trailer. If these shipments could be performed at lower power consumption by using new technology a great potential to save both the environment and the economy would be at hand. The potential for energy efficiency is within technology development but the lack of profitability, makes it hard for the farmer to pay for the better technology. The interest for the farmer is, therefore, to calculate pay back time for the investment in more innovative technology. This study intends to verify whether this advanced technique is motivated by giving lowering the fuel consumption. The study will also investigate whether the technique provides better operating economy when the higher investment costs are considered.
