Det utvecklade trafikanalysverktyget används också i projektet för att ta fram metoder för optimal utformning av styrmedel som minimerar energianvändningen.Abstract: In order to evaluate how changes in the traffic system affect energy use and emissions, traffic analysis tools are used together with emission models. The traffic analysis tool, which in Sweden is used for estimating long term effects, has limited possibility to describe how energy use and emissions will be affected. This results in an underestimation of energy use and emissions from actions which will reduce congestion in the traffic system. In this project we will develop tools for traffic analysis which better handle phenomena in the traffic system which are important when estimating energy use and emissions, and connect it with a tool for estimation of energy use and emissions. Thus, high quality estimations on changes in energy use and emissions can be communicated to both decision makers and the public. Within the project we also show how this new tool can be used for optimal design of traffic management schemes (e.g. congestion charges), with respect to minimal energy use.
