Abstract: Projektet övergripande mål är att analysera energieffektiviseringspotentialen som kan erhållas genom att ge besättningen på fartyg möjligheten att ta del av och agera på realtidsinformation om energianvändningen. Projektet förväntas resultera i en minskning av ett fartygs totala energianvändning med minst 5 procent med hjälp av realtidsbaserad visualisering av energianvändningen. Målet är dessutom att koldioxidutsläppen per fartyg kommer att minskas med cirka 800 ton.Abstract: The basics for monitoring ships performance with a data log is summarized here below: • The fuel cost is now the highest operating cost which also offers to largest potential for savings. • The analysis of ship performance is very difficult due to the dynamic environment and due to the lack of accurate measurement and reporting. • High resolution automatically logged data gives much improved possibilities for performance analysis. • Onboard access to real time performance data offers the opportunity for the crew to understand and act on energy usage. • On shore access to on-line performance data makes it possible to interact much faster with vessel to initiate actions on energy usage. • The energy savings potential by installing a data-log-system, having exact fuel consumption measurement and real-time engine supervision is in the order of 5-10 % (based on 5%, approx. 250 MT of bunker Fuel per year can be saved – or approx. SEK 1.000.000 per ship and year).
