Subject(s): Abstract: Projektet är SSPA:s del av EU-projektet Battery powered Boats, providing Greening, Resistance reduction, Electric, Efficient and Novelty (BB Green). Syftet med projektet är att utveckla en farkost för passagerardrift i inre farvatten med minimal miljöpåverkan. Detta kommer att ske genom att minimera motståndet med hjälp av luftkuddeteknik samt att driva fartyget med elmotorer och batterier som energikälla. Fartyget kommer att byggas i kompositmaterial för att minimera vikten. Målet i projektet är att bygga en ca 18 m plattform och demonstrera tekniken. Genom att utveckla den kunskapen som erhållits i tidigare projekt, bl.a. EU projektet EFFISES, kommer motståndet på farkosten att kunna minimeras ytterligare. Två olika koncept undersöks, en katamaran med luftkamrar i katamaranskroven och ett enkelskrov med en luftkammare centralt belägen. Beroende på resultatet av de planerade modellförsöken kommer ett skrov att väljas för ytterligare optimering och bli basen för plattformen som skall tagas fram. Arbetet på SSPA består huvudsakligen i konstruktion av farkosternas undervattendel samt modellprovning av dessa. Försök kommer att utföras i SSPA:s släpränna. Plattformen kommer sedan att byggas på ett varv inom Europa, och SSPA kommer att deltaga i provturer. The aim of the project is to develop a vessel for passenger transport on inland waterways with minimal environmental impact. The method used will minimize resistance using air cushion technology with electric motors and batteries as energy source. The vessel will be built of composite materials to minimize its weight. The goal of this project is to build an approximately 18 m platform and demonstrate the technology. By developing the knowledge gained in previous projects, including the EU project EFFIS, the resistance of the craft will be further minimmized. Two different concepts are examined, a catamaran with air chambers in both hulls and a monohull with an air chamber in the centre. Depending on the outcome of the planned model tests, one hull will be selected for further optimization and used as base for the platform to be developed. SSPA’s part will mainly be the underwater design of the vessels and model testing of these. Experiments will be carried out in SSPA's towing tank. The platform will be built at a shipyard in Europe, and SSPA will participate in trial runs. In a final step, the platform will be demonstrated in the port of Rotterdam.
