Subject(s): Abstract: Projektet kommer resultera i ökad kunskap och kompetens för AVTECH och ökad marknadsandel som underleverantör till tillverkare av avionik och ATM system samt som deltagare i FoU projekt såsom SESAR. Det förväntas att AVTECH kommer kunna blir underleverantör till dominerande tillverkare av flygburna Flight Management System, såsom GE Aviation och Thales-Avionics, för specificering och design av ny funktionalitet rörande tidsstyrda operationer. Pågående samarbete kring forskning och utbildning med KTH förväntas fortsätta och expanderas.Abstract: The project will examine how time-based operations can best be used for arrival management in the Terminal Maneuvering Area. The project will also give new knowledge regarding how time information for a flight is best presented and displayed to pilots on the flight deck of modern airline aircraft. The results from the research project will give benefits to aircraft and avionics manufacturers and ultimately to pilots of tomorrows airline aircraft and air traffic controllers. It will also give evidence for how to ensure safe separation of aircraft when starting to use time based operations in the TMA. The project will result in increased specific knowledge for AVTECH and an increased market share as subcontractor for avionics and ATM systems manufacturers as well as contributors to R&D projects such as SESAR. It is expected that AVTECH will be able to become a subcontractor to major manufacturers of on-board Flight Management Systems, for example GE Aviation or Thales-Avionic, in order to specify and design new functionality dealing with time based operations. Also cooperative research with KTH is expected to continue and be further expanded.
