Abstract: Magnihill Farm is planning for a co-digestion plant with a high share of substrates from the agricultural sector. The biogas will be upgraded and condensed to liquid biogas. The utilization of manure and crops residues for biogas production is very limited today due to lack of profitability. However, these substrates represent the major part of the biogas potential not utilized today. Thus, in order to increase the biogas production, it is essential that these substrates can be digested in a cost efficient way. At Magnihill, several measures are taken to increase the efficiency from a systems perspective with focus on a high net production of biogas, reduced methane leaching and a high quality digestate. The biogas plant is based on novel solutions for an efficient production of biogas from fibrous substrates such as manure. At the same time, the digestate is separated and the substrate is sanitized under thermophile conditions. The investment amount to 62 million SEK and the plant will produce just over 22 GWh of liquid biogas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions with 7 200 ton CO2-eqvivalents/year.
