Subject(s): Abstract: Projektet avser utveckling av miljövänliga katalytiska kupé-/hyttvärmare som ger kraftigt sänkta utsläppsmängder (inget NOx, partikelutsläpp eller giftig kolmonoxid). En högre möjlig verkningsgrad reducerar även bränsleförbrukning och CO2 utsläpp. Då värmareteknologin som tas fram även kan drivas med biodiesel möjliggörs helt CO2 neutrala utsläpp. Forskning och utveckling leds av ReformTech i samarbete med Scania, Saab Automobile, Volvo Personvagnar och KTH.Abstract: Environmental friendly catalytic heaters provide a significant step in reducing emissions from conventional heaters which are widely available in today’s trucks and passenger cars. ReformTech's heating technology yields significantly reduced emissions (no NOx, particle matters, or poisonous carbon monoxide), and is an attractive alternative to the conventional fuel burn heaters. A possible increased efficiency also reduces fuel consumption and lowers CO2 emissions. As the heater technology that is developed also operates with biodiesel as fuel, it also provides the opportunity of fully CO2 neutral emissions. ReformTech heads the research in cooperation with Scania, Saab & KTH. Scania & Saab contributes with test & evaluation of prototypes in its engine test cells, and with requirement specifications. KTH develops new noble metal free catalysts for biodiesel. ReformTech is responsible for reactor- and systems research. The project is a continuation of a “Forska&Väx” project.
