Abstract: Resultaten av det beskrivna projektet innebär att Volvo Aero skapar sig möjligheten att effektivt leverera komponenter som möter målen på lättare vikt, bättre prestanda och ökade livslängd. Detta betyder att konkurrenskraften för företaget stärks. Den främsta kundaspekten på en mer effektiv beredningsprocess är att ledtiden för produktframtagning kan förkortas.Abstract: For a time there have been discussions of the value of the effective use of IT-tools to support critical business functions. These functions include data, information- and knowledge- and project management. The project aims to understand the mechanisms by which these concepts and systems can support the preparation process and thereby increasing overall business performance. Volvo Aero will through this project come into possession of skills to improve their part preparation process.
The results of the described project, which Volvo Aero creates the ability to effectively deliver components that, meet the objectives of the lighter weight, better performance and longevity. This means that the competitiveness of the company is strengthened. The main client aspect is a shortened lead time for product development.
