Abstract: Studien kommer att resultera i ökad kunskap och insikt kring hur logistikansvariga kan möta de ökade kraven på socialt ansvar. Studien kan ge företag en beredskap inför framtida krav på logistiksystemet såsom förändrade juridiska skyldigheter. Dessa insikter är även av vikt för exempelvis beslutsfattare, myndigheter, IT- företag, fordonstillverkare m.m.Abstract: The objective of the study is to examine CSR in the narrower context of the supply chain processes. The study will provide businesses and furthermost supply chain managers with insights, knowledge, and examples regarding how to address the increasing CSR-demands on the supply chain management. The aim of the study is threefold:
1. To investigate, structure and describe how CSR measures can influence the design and management of the supply chain.
2. To investigate, structure and describe how changes in the SCM and logistical system´s components can influence a firm´s CSR performance.
3. To provide practically feasible guidelines to logistical managers and executives on how to knowledgeably address CSR issues.
This study will result in insights, knowledge and practically applicable guidance which can support logistical and supply chain managers to address CSR in a knowledgeable, cost efficient and effective manner. Furthermore, the insights from the project can prepare businesses for future demands placed on the logistical system, such as changed legal obligations. These insights can also provide the government, social planners, trade associations, IT-providers, vehicle manufacturers etc., with a larger understanding of the companies´ situation, actions and future needs.
