Subject(s): Online resources: Abstract: Det är väl känt att resor med bil orsakar olika trafikproblem i form av trängsel, en ökad frekvens av olyckor, utsläpp till luft och buller. Också biltrafiken till och från, men även inom, många turistmål orsakar under högsäsongen betydande trafikproblem. En möjlighet att komma till rätta med dessa problem och utveckla hållbara transportsystem är ökat resande med kollektiva färdmedel (inklusive tåg), cykel och till fots. Syftet med detta projektförslag är att analysera förutsättningarna för att överföra resande från egen bil till andra transportslag såsom kollektivtrafik (inkl. tåg), cykel och gång till, från och inom turistområden. Målet med projektet är att ta fram underlag för en nationell handlingsplan för hållbara turistresor. Projektet utgår ifrån ett urval typiska trafikanters (turisters) transportbehov från ett ”dörr till dörr”- eller ”hela resan”-perspektiv som analyseras med avseende på resmöjligheter, restid och reskostnad samt ytterligare ett antal faktorer. Projektet förväntas leda till bättre kunskap om olika turisters transportbehov och möjligheterna att nyttja alternativ till egen bil för dessa transporter. Projektet bidrar därmed till bättre möjligheter att vidareutveckla alternativen till resor med egen bil vid turistresor.Abstract: It is well known that car traffic causes various problems such as congestion, an increased frequency of accidents, air pollution and noise. Also car traffic to and from, as well as in many tourist destinations during high season, causes considerable traffic problems. One possibility to overcome these problems and develop a sustainable transport system is increased travel by public transport (including rail), bicycle and on foot. The aim of this project proposal is to analyze the conditions for transferring passengers from car to other modes such as public transport (including rail), bicycle and walking to, from and within the tourist areas. The goal is to contribute to the development of a National plan for sustainable tourism. The project is based on a selection of typical road (tourist) transport needs from a “door to door"- or "whole journey"-perspective that is analyzed in terms of travel options, travel time and cost and a number of additional factors. The project is expected to lead to a better understanding of various transportation needs of tourists and the possibility of utilizing alternatives to private car for these journeys. It thus contributes to better opportunities to develop alternatives to the private car in tourist travel.
