Subject(s): Abstract: Referat saknas.Abstract: As a first step towards an ITS investment evaluation the following short-term activity is proposed. It relates to the SRA Strategy on a general level as it addresses the fist step in the five step approach (page 2), i.e. bringing home good and excellent knowledge from outside of Sweden for implementation in a Swedish context. However, it is not axiomatic that an ITS solution being considered “best practice” abroad will directly work at the same level of performance in Sweden. A transferability analysis must be made, but an applicable transferability analysis toolbox does not exist. The goal of this project is to start developing such a toolbox (as part of a full scale ITS Evaluation Framework being the goal in the long term). The project will focus on one application area (chosen in collaboration with SRA) where the most advanced ITS solutions in an area considered a high priority by the SRA are not found in Sweden but elsewhere. Applied in this area the efforts will be concentrated on identifying the generics and specifics of the “context” (national and/or local) in which the “best practice” of interest for Sweden can be found. A similar analysis (to identify the specifics and generics) will be made in Sweden (on both a national and a local level). The main results will be developed into a first version of a transferability analysis toolbox and methodological challenges will be identified and the first steps taken. The possibility to generalise the approach (the toolbox) to other potential ITS applications (and contexts) will be a natural follow-up, and plans for further work on this issue in a next phase (both now and in the future) will be developed.
