Abstract: The Institute Excellence Centre ViP will develop real-time simulation and assessment methodologies making driving simulators time and cost effective tools for development and design, especially HMI, in the vehicle industry and infrastructure area. Swedish competence concerning transport-related real-time simulation with HMI-focus will be unified and elaborated forming a common and sustainable competence base positioning the ViP-environment in the international front edge. Facilitating human-in-the-loop simulations and promoting use of driving simulators at all levels will strengthen Sweden´s competitiveness. - Increased interaction and knowledge exchange between national actors. - Strategic co-ordination and exchange of methods and tools for improved compatibility. - Increased knowledge about human-technology-interaction, vehicle simulation and assessment methodology. - Improved safety and efficiency of system components in transport by simulator-based human-centred design. - Reduced costs and lead times for simulator applications. - Opportunities for retaining vehicle research and development in Sweden.
